New Ukraine Publications

I have two new publications about Ukraine that have recently appeared online. The first piece is a PONARS Eurasia Policy Memo, co-authored with Ralph Clem and Tim Hoheneder. The memo assesses how pre-war changes to Ukraine's economy, wartime damage, and perceptions of security will affect post-war reconstruction. 

The second item is an article in the journal Problems of Post-Communism, co-authored with Khrystyna Pelchar. Using public opinion data collected by Ukrainian survey research agencies, we show how regional variation in attitudes was more pronounced a decade ago. Our findings suggest that regional differences on certain key issues may be dissipating and that the war may further accelerate national convergence.
